I LOVE a good pizza. Lately I’ve been obsessed with making it from a premade crust that I find at HEB in the pizza sauce isle. It is the only thin crust 2 pack they carry and it is DELICIOUS! Just simply follow the instructions (be sure to brush it with olive oil before you top it!) add your favorite toppings and you have a quick meal made. It’s a really easy work week meal.
If you have more time to spare, perhaps for a weekend pizza party, you can attempt to make the dough from scratch which comes out SO much better (not as healthy though). I’ve been using the recipe that came with my KitchenAid stand Mixer and I found it online at this site: http://www.food.com/recipe/kitchenaid-crusty-pizza-dough-64860
Once your dough is ready, I’ve found that using quality ingredients makes the difference. Muir Glen has a great line of organic sauces and I find the pasta sauces are a tasty alternative to the boring pizza sauce. I add oregano, garlic powder, and basil to my sauce to give it some extra flavor. Once I spread the sauce on the pizza, I find that my favorite pizza is topped with Boar’s Head pepperoni that I get from the deli along with Boar’s Head Mozzerella. I usually ask them to slice it on #1 and give me about 8 slices of each. I then top the pizza with that and some veggies (bell peppers and onions are my favorite), and behold the end result:
